Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.
If you are just coming to my diary for the first time, please read my introductory entry, where I share some background that is important if you plan to follow this diary regularly.
Please also visit my music page, where you can hear samples from my debut CD, I Believe, which features songs written based on experiences shared in this journal.
Is there such a thing as a soul mate? It depends on the definition of soul mate. To me, a soul mate is someone who is committed to knowing me intimately and building me up and who is called to the same ministries (or at least is very familiar with them) as I am. A soul mate is someone who knows the core of me--only God knows me better.
What does this have to do with marriage? It is assumed that God joins the two people together in a marriage. So what does this mean? They act as one. They may be doing different things, but they work toward a common purpose for which God has called and gifted them. That's how He joins them. So you cannot be married in the true sense of the word unless that person is your soul mate, because you cannot be joined together as one.
Is it possible to know that someone is your someone? That's another question deserving of a lot more study. Without studying, I would say it can be but it doesn't always work that way.
