Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.

Self-acceptance: For me, so much of the healing journey comes down to accepting who I am and allowing myself the freedom to be who I am, coming out from under the influence of the opinions of others and believing that I have a right to form my own opinion of myself and even to have that opinion be positive! Wow! What a concept! I struggle daily with it.
Codependency: This is a big one--the question of when and what boundaries to set, what to tolerate in return for kindness, etc. There are some things that I will tolerate because every person has flaws. But when hurts are inflicted, when lies about me are believed or when needs of mine which are well known to the other person are overlooked, I find it very hard to deal with this dilemma. The more attached emotionally I am to the other person, the harder it is to decide how to proceed. If it had been someone I cared nothing about or didn't know, I would have just gone about my merry way.
I didn't realize how much progress I was making in coming to terms with the current lifestyle I am in. All I know is that sitting here writing, I feel totally washed clean of all the pain from the last two weeks. I feel more at home than I've felt in a very longtime, just sitting here and thinking and writing.
