Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.

Today I will walk as far as the construction fence that is about halfway between my apartment and the classroom buildings. As I get to the fence, Lord, please show me the barriers in my life and teach me how to get around them.
The barrier I identified this morning is my fear of rejection. It keeps me from going to Chi Alpha sometimes because I think that because no one talked to me last time no one will this time. It also keeps me from trying to grow in my spiritual life. I think that nothing I do will be good enough.
1. I will go to Chi Alpha no matter what happens. First of all, that is a place where I go to worship. Second, there are new people there all the time. If I am there on a consistent basis, something can change.
2. SMILE! My mom always says that if I look happy, people will want to be around me. I don't know if that will work or not, but it certainly won't hurt. It's less stressful to smile,, and I'm sure I will feel better if I get in the habit of doing it.
3. Believe that God loves me and wants to have a personal relationship with me. A relationship is a two-way street. I have to give, and I need to remember that God gives as well. He doesn't require my attention--He wants it so that I will learn to give AND receive.
Lord, help me to put these lessons into practice today as I go through my normal routine. Help me to pay attention and to hear when You speak. Help me to recognize opportunities to reach out to others who need or want what I have to give.
