Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.
If you are just coming to my diary for the first time, please read my introductory entry, where I share some background that is important if you plan to follow this diary regularly.
Please also visit my music page, where you can hear samples from my debut CD, I Believe, which features songs written based on experiences shared in this journal.
I am pretty proud of myself for accomplishing some specific stuff today. I thought since I've been saying I'm so whiny I'd list my accomplishments here and then save it away to remember that I'm not always whining and that I do actually get stuff done, especially since I slept half the day away because of the dumb bronchitis after telling Mom I wanted to work on not taking so many naps. Yeah, I was beating myself up for it, but I was also feeling really sick this morning and when I talked to Mom later she said I sounded bad. So since noon I have:
1. Investigated the possibility of filing an appeal to get Medicaid to cover that doctor's fee. Didn't get very far, but did all I could do for the moment.
2. Updated some info with the SSA office about my SSI case. They had me listed as disabled, not blind, and it makes a difference in the way my case is handled. It's been this way for eight years and I never knew.
3. Took a shower: a major accomplishment when I feel sick and like it wouldn't matter anyway.
4. Cleaned the kitty box: another major accomplishment cuz now it's twice the work since we have Casey back in the house. Sis was keeping her, but my parents and I have her now since sis is having family problems.
5. Laundry in progress.
6. Found out I am not broke and can afford to help parents buy groceries and pay off some more bills. Feels good and like I'm taking a baby step back toward getting my own place. Maybe I'll even be able to afford to take that class I need, especially if I can get the Medicaid appeal thing to work.
