Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.
If you are just coming to my diary for the first time, please read my introductory entry, where I share some background that is important if you plan to follow this diary regularly.
Please also visit my music page, where you can hear samples from my debut CD, I Believe, which features songs written based on experiences shared in this journal.
1. Realize that You intentionally planned for me to have friends. Lord, You send me Gina. Hers is a unique friendship in that she can be honest with me and I can accept it. I'm sure that is because she is sensitive to You. Bless her and make her successful in her walk with You. As she rids her house of thespirits that war against her and her family, give her strength and wisdom. Help her to put on Your armor.
2. Loving, enduring, friendship is a two-way street. Lord, I have spent a long time trying to give, and now I am being told that I am selfish. I think that there is a time when it is appropriate for me to ask for friends to minister to my needs. I need You to reveal it to me when I am being selfish and when I need to put others first.
3. Cultivate communication that will enrich friendships. Give me boldness, Lord, when I have a need. Help me not to resist asking for fear of appearing selfish. Help me to be honest with Gina and to believe her when she is honest with me.
This comes from Don Gosset's book, Gladness: The Key to Anointed Living.
I've got to sing more. Singing always helped me when I was feeling bad, and I haven't been singing enough lately. Lord, thank You for providing me with reminders of how to fight against the spirit of depression.
Just as I say, "I can ... through Christ who strengthens me," I can say, "The Lord is the strength of my ..." (Psalm 27:1)
