Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.
If you are just coming to my diary for the first time, please read my introductory entry, where I share some background that is important if you plan to follow this diary regularly.
Please also visit my music page, where you can hear samples from my debut CD, I Believe, which features songs written based on experiences shared in this journal.
I don't understand what is happening to me. I feel pulled in different directions. Part of me feels trapped in my pain. Part of me feels angry. Maybe frustrated is a better word. I don't know where to start reading, how to begin to understand.
But I know that You have answered my prayer. I asked that You bring me to church--and, more specifically, that You speak to me.
If not dangerous, it is short-sighted to read the Scriptures alone. Like the eunuch in Acts 4, we need to be taught. God gives understanding as a gift, but it's not bad to have teachers. We don't give a child a math book and expect him to learn independently, although some learn more independently than others. A spiritual teacher encourages the student to learn using lots of tools.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
I am a member of Lighted Path, a directory of Christian diaries.
