Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.

Dori went to her new home yesterday. I, of course, miss her very much. I expect to find her sprawled out on the floor in the living room or hear her getting in the kitchen trash. I had a very hard time handing over her toys and her bed and grooming items. I kept a couple of toys for the new dog, but other than that everything that was Dori's (except her harness and the feed pan) went with her.
I couldn't have asked for a better family for her. The boys don't seem to tire of playing with her. Their mom keeps in good touch and doesn't mind my calling once in a while just to see how things are going. She also suggested a visit after I come home. I like that idea. Part of me wants to visit before I go, but I think that wouldn't be a good thing. It would just upset me to leave and have Dori going with them again, and I think I'll handle that much better when I have a dog to bring home with me.
