Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.

Yesterday Mom told me that Lynda is pregnant. I've been feeling like I need to develop a closer relationship with her and that this might be a good time. I'm alternating between thinking this is a bad dream, worrying about how she's feeling and how she'll handle everything, and thinking "Ok, so what? Life goes on." She needs those members of her family who will stick with her no matter what she does.
I think about her singing in the choir with a bunch of upper class kids and being the only pregnant girl. I think about her trying to finish school when she's not getting enough sleep. I think about her trying to finish school while she's working because no one can stay with the baby. I wonder if she'll decide to quit school. I wonder how the rest of the family will treat her. Gramps has become more outspoken in the last few years, and I hope he won't say things about Lynda's spiritual life. No one should hold that against her. Instead, we should be there to help her grow when she's ready.
I am worried about Mom. I know she'll start missing Granny. I know she's worrying about me, and she shouldn't be. I'm fine. I can get through this. I might do better in her presence, but I can make it in her absence. She needs to concentrate on life at home.
