Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.
If you are just coming to my diary for the first time, please read my introductory entry, where I share some background that is important if you plan to follow this diary regularly.
Please also visit my music page, where you can hear samples from my debut CD, I Believe, which features songs written based on experiences shared in this journal.
There are so many things on my mind. I have to clean up my house today, which means I can't get tired. I want to finish taking notes on all the books I have so they can be returned. I want to get to know You better.
Gramps died last Saturday, and his memorial service is this weekend. Lynda, Amy, and I are supposed to sing "My Jesus, I Love Thee". I hope it works out and doesn't sound bad. I hope people aren't grouchy this weekend.
I have been engaged for about a month now. We're thinking of getting married in December right before Christmas. We feel like it would be okay for my friend to keep living with us. Everyone else is going to have fits about that. I need to be able to deal with that.
I went grocery shopping yesterday. In the check-out line there was a lady behind me with a two-year-old boy. I liked the way she talked with him and described things and gave him feedback. He asked about the cheese and if he could eat it. She said, "Are you getting hungry? We're going to go home and eat dinner in a few minutes, but we have to check out our food first. Oh, are you pretending to eat the cheese? It's fun to pretend, isn't it?" It all sounded so natural! Then he said he wanted to go to the flower section. She said, "We might go over there in a minute. Do you like to smell the flowers? What is your favorite one?" He said, "That purple one." She said, "The purple one? Is it pretty?" He seemed to be happy and involved with his environment. I want to be like that with my kids.
