Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.
If you are just coming to my diary for the first time, please read my introductory entry, where I share some background that is important if you plan to follow this diary regularly.

Tonight I got on GEnie and was just playing around, looking for people I knew. Art and Staci were in the RTC. They were talking with some former Jehovah's Witnesses. Art is a Baptist pastor, and Staci is his wife.
Anyway, one person seemed to have some particularly hostile thoughts toward God. He said something to the effect that he feltlike all religion was a crutch for warm fuzzy feelings.
Staci said, "Religion is not the answer, the answer is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ."
That got my attention because I had been trying to think of something to say to the other person. Also, it made me think about my salvation experience again and wonder why I don't seem to have a concept of Jesus. I have never talked to anyone about this in detail. But I decided Staci would be a good person to talk to since she said what she said.
She told me to read the Gospels and learn more about Jesus. I asked if things would start to become more real to me, and she said yes. She said that today is the day to start my new life and that I should not dwell on the past.
Lord, I really do want to learn about you. I need lots of help in understanding and applying everything. I want you to makeyourself real to me. I want to keep my commitment and make it last this time. Please come and begin to draw me to you so that I can have that relationship with you that I need.
