Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.

My grandmother, Ferne Erickson, had a close walk with God. She saw Him in everyday life: in the way I interacted as a three- year-old with my teacher and in the way things happened on TVshows. Most of the time I think people today are distracted by everyday life. God is "becoming" a being of the past, Someone with whom we cannot relate. People who talk about the works of God are seen as weird--those works were written about by people who lived a long time ago, and they are probably not even real.
But my heart says that in spite of all the people who are talking about You with empty words, I can still have a real relationship with You and that if I want to, I can walk with You so closely that I could touch You. That is what I want, Lord. I want the kind of faith that will let me walk with You that way. I don't want to be living for what I can give others or what they can give to me. I want to live to enjoy my fellowship with You because You never leave or die.
There is some kind of change in my attitude since Saturday night when I talked with Staci. I am still interested in reading like I always have been, but my motivation to seek You in spite of what other people say is returning. I am starting to believe again that You can do all things instead of think that You are too far away to touch my life or the lives of my friends.
