Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.

I just found out that my Bible professor is very sick. Our class has been cancelled the last two times. He either has a muscle spasm in his back or a slipped disk. If he has a slipped disk, he won't be back for the rest of the semester. I hope it's just a muscle spasm. I really respect him. He has a great deal of knowledge about the Bible and has helped me to see that to really understand something, you have to search for its meaning, to explore all the possible ways in which certain words can be used and all the different ways they can be put together. It's amazing how many different things one verse can mean, depending on which definitions you use! He has also helped me to become aware of the culture for which some of the New Testament letters were written.
