Thanks for visiting my diary. I've been journaling since 1984 and have chosen to share some of my entries online. They are not all positive thoughts, but I hope that reading them might be a blessing to someone who needs encouragement.

The news is I'm just strange. My test was all within the normal range, but low frequencies are on the borderline. It's very unusual for a person to lose low frequencies. Usually it's high frequencies that go. So it's just one of those monitor situations and there's nothing to do. This is having effects on my daily activities, but the audiogram didn't identify any reason for it.
I first noticed it a couple of years ago but thought it was just a bad day. I really got concerned sometime this spring. Mom and I were eating at Wendy's and I turned my head all the way toone side to hear what she was saying. I'll forward my update, which wasn't too revealing. I'm now starting to wonder if it's some kind of processing thing that maybe is neurological. I know that sounds nuts, but there is something behind my inability to understand speech in a crowd and my difficulties with interpreting directions of traffic. I haven't said anything about that until today, and I said it at the audiogram. And that's a big one because that affects my independence.
Tomorrow I start group therapy for DBT skills. I'm happy about this. I went back for my individual session tonight, and it went really well.
